Dietary Issues Julie Halfpop is a graduate of Iowa State University with a BS in Food & Nutrition/Dietetics. Her work history includes serving as Director of Dietary at a rural hospital, where she also served as a consultant to area health care facilities. Other employment has included work as a Corporate Dietitian for a long-term care company and also as a private consultant. Currently, Julie is a Marketing Dietitian with Martin Bros. Distributing, a full-line food distributor based in Cedar Falls, Iowa. In addition, she has spent over 15 years teaching Dietary Manager’s courses. She is a member of the American Dietetic Association and the Iowa Consulting Dietitians where she has served as Chair and District Representative. She is currently the Member at Large Elect for the Iowa Dietetic Association. Tom McCord has been employed at Springfield Grocer for 13 years. He is ServSafe certified and is a ServSafe trainer. He recently attended a ManagerFirst Program sponsored by the National Restaurant Association and is now certified to train and be an online proctor for the NRA ManagerFirst Program. He is an instructor listed with the Greene County Missouri Health Department and the Branson, Missouri Health Department. Tom was the production manager for Piccadilly Cafeteria for 6 years. Tom served 21 years in the USAF and retired as a noncommissioned officer in charge of disaster preparedness. Tom was trained in nuclear biological and chemical warfare as well as natural disaster recovery.
