1 What is Missouri Assisted Living Association (MALA)?

Missouri Assisted Living Association (MALA) was created because Missouri owners, operators and supporters of assisted living wanted a trade association that was solely and exclusively dedicated to assisted living.

MALA is comprised of assisted living facilities ranging in size from those that care for a few individuals to ones that care for hundreds; as well as companies and individuals that supply and support the assisted living industry.

MALA provides comprehensive legislative and regulatory representation before the Missouri Legislature and the state agencies that regulate assisted living.

In addition to our exceptional educational seminars at our Spring and Fall Conferences each year, MALA also provides training seminars and industry forums at a variety of locations throughout the state of Missouri.

There are 21 members elected to serve on the Board of Directors.  Board members, with the assistance of the executive director and MALA staff, act as a liason between the industry and regulating agencies.

Membership in MALA is open to all long-term health care providers. Associate membership is available to all interested persons.
